I want to continue to serve the residents of Genesee County, provide the required leadership during this time of transition and offer a new perspective on the duties of this office.

I am an experienced, proven community leader who is committed to serve. I have over twenty years as a public servant working with human service organizations addressing issues that improve the social and human conditions for the residents of Genesee County. As the current Manager of Community Investments at United Way, I am required to use my skills and educational background (B.A., Sociology, University of Michigan-Flint; M.A., Educational Leadership, Eastern Michigan University) to work with individuals and groups to create solutions to identified issues.

Genesee County residents have expressed concern about the same things that I’m concerned about: the economy, foreclosures and how to maintain quality services at a time when there are fewer resources to sustain them. To address these and others, I will work with diverse community representatives to assess and identify root causes, and develop strategies to reduce or resolve the issue.

As your Register of Deeds, I fulfill the duties to keep the records safe, accurate, and accessible. With staff assistance and community input, I will work to develop intervention strategies to prevent foreclosures, enhance customer service, increase efficiency, and reduce cost.
