Private sector employment in Genesee County is comprised of several important sectors. Total private employment is lead by retail, manufacturing, and Administrative Services with 18.2%, 14.3%, and 6.8% respectively.Of a total of 114,079 employed in the private sector, retail employs 20,795. The manufacturing sector employs 16,300. Administrative services rounds out the “top three” with 7,781 employed.
