Education Attainment
Working-age Adults with Bachelor's Degree or Higher
A growing number of Genesee County workers, age 25 and
over, are attaining Bachelors Degree or higher education
levels. Genesee County outpaced Michigan and the US with
an improvement rate of 27.34 percent between 1990 and 2000.
For years, the Genesee County economy provided jobs for
workers with little or no college education. Education attainment
statistics show that a growing number of Genesee County
workers are obtaining higher education degrees in response
to a more diverse, knowledge-based economy.
Over 27,000 students are now enrolled in higher education
in Genesee County. Skilled trades and other professional
certifications are a substantial strengthwithin the Genesee
County workforce as well.
