Asia Initiative
Asian companies that are considering investment and business
partnerships will find Genesee County, Michigan offers a substantial
advantage. The area’s location, infrastructure, workforce,
and business supply base provide an unbeatable opportunity
for growing Asian companies. Among Genesee County’s
greatest assets is an expanding logistics capability. Our
new intermodal facilities allow for timely receipt of sea
containers and air freight shipments, providing cost-effective
logistics options with proximity to key customers nearby.
New investment from Asia is expected to take the form of direct
investment, joint ventures with existing companies, and other
strategic alliances. The Genesee Regional Chamber of Commerce
has undertaken an aggressive outreach strategy to identify
new business investment opportunities from Asia. Participation
in the Michigan Global Partnership has allowed Genesee County
to collaborate with other Michigan communities to promote
the State of Michigan as a prime destination for new investment.
Regional Chamber participation in Michigan Global Partnership

We welcome new companies to locate in Genesee County and
benefit from our strong supply base, technological capabilities,
and intermodal/logistics strengths.
In addition, we are working to assist Genesee County firms
in the development of international business strategies
that capitalize on the strengths of their local operations
and seize business sales and/or partnership opportunities
in international markets. This includes the formation of
International User Groups for firms interested in working
together in a facilitated format. One group has been formed
and others are planned.
