New investment at Grand Blanc
Processing
This Japanese-owned processing facility received approval
from Grand Blanc Township in December, 2006, for an Industrial
Facilities Tax abatement to support the company’s
plans to make a substantial new investment in additional
processing equipment. Anticipated new investment totaled
nearly $1 million. As a result, 20 new jobs have been created
and Grand Blanc Processing has the ability to undertake
additional sales growth. The expansion creates additional
tax base in Grand Blanc Township. The Genesee Regional Chamber
of Commerce has supported the project by working collaboratively
with Grand Blanc Processing, Grand Blanc Township and other
key organizations.
In addition to the IFT, Grand Blanc Processing will benefit
greatly from the reconstruction of the Baldwin Road rail
bridge. This project has been undertaken by the Genesee
County Road Commission with funding and other support from
the State of Michigan. The Genesee Regional Chamber has
been a strong advocate of the Genesee County Road Commission’s
efforts to undertake and complete this important bridge
replacement project.
